Head of Controlling
Location: Zagreb
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Controlling function, including team leadership and cross-functional business partnering
- Oversee controlling activities across production, inventory, procurement, sales, and marketing, ensuring accurate performance monitoring and profitability analysis
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and management reporting processes, providing actionable insights and recommendations to support decision-making
- Monitor financial and operational performance, analyze variances, and support executive leadership through business reviews, project controlling, and investment evaluations
- Lead cost and profitability management, including cost allocation, transfer pricing, responsibility center reporting, and business performance analysis
- Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and digitalization of controlling systems, reporting frameworks, and performance management tools
- Foster strong collaboration and alignment across business functions to support organizational objectives
- Lead project controlling for long-term contracts, including revenue recognition under IFRS 15 and margin monitoring throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead group consolidation and management reporting, and shorten the group closing cycle
Required skills, knowledge, and experience:
- University degree (Finance; related field); a technical background with a strong controlling track record is equally welcome
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, finance business partnering, project controlling, production controlling, or similar finance leadership roles within complex, multi-entity companies; project-based and/or manufacturing environment is an advantage
- Experience in managing teams is an advantage
- Solid understanding of intercompany transactions, responsibility center reporting, management reporting, and consolidated financial analysis
- Working knowledge of IFRS, in particular IFRS 15
- Experience with ERP and BI implementations is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
- Professional working proficiency in English; German is an advantage
