Our client, an international group operating in hospitality sector, is looking for a proactive and motivated professional to support their day-to-day operations in the position of:


Business Controller (m/f/d)

Location: Istria

Business Controller works closely with local management and plays an essential role in performance monitoring, risk control, and supporting operational and strategic decision-making.

Main responsibilities:

  • Accounting & Finance Oversight: Supervise and support local accounting, ensure compliance with Group policies, manage bookkeeping, payments, monthly controls and reconciliations, asset management, bank reconciliations, fiscal/social reporting, financial closings, and coordination with auditors
  • Business Controlling & Reporting: Support budgeting and forecasting with local managers, analyze performance and variances, prepare operational and financial reports, monitor revenue developments, ensure proper inventory execution, validate purchase orders, drive synergies across local companies, and support CAPEX and software implementation projects
  • Internal Control & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with legal standards and Group procedures, identify and mitigate key risks, monitor daily cash operations, manage petty cash and deposits, and ensure completeness and accuracy of customer invoicing

Required skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or in an audit firm
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Rigorous, efficient, adaptable and a strong communicator
  • Initiative and strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Proficiency in finance and accounting software
  • Strong command of MS office (especially Excel)
  • Fluency in English
