Our client is Grand Automotive Group, a regional leader in retail and distribution of various automotive brands such as Hyundai, Ford, MG, etc.

They are looking for a highly competent individual to join their team in the following position:

Senior Accountant (m/f/d)

Location: Zagreb

Senior Accountant is responsible for managing cost accounting, maintaining and analyzing accounting records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the financial stability of the organization. This role also involves overseeing daily international transactions and ensuring compliance with industry-specific financial regulations and standards.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with current finance and accounting regulations
  • Independently handle and record all business transactions, including incoming and outgoing invoices, bank statements, travel orders, compensations, and other financial accounting entries
  • Conduct regular checks and monitoring financial partners and the dealer network accounts
  • Prepare relevant forms for accounting documentation
  • Perform accurate VAT calculations, and manage other public charges while ensuring alignment with the Tax Administration
  • Responsible for managing daily international transactions accurately and timely
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and promote best practices in financial control and reporting
  • Help in preparing comprehensive financial statements and organize documentation for audit purposes
  • Communicate with relevant authorities, auditors and external accounting services
  • Ensure tax compliance and risk mitigation, as well as adherence to financial policies and standards across the organization

Required skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • High school diploma is a minimum, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related is an advantage
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting, experience in automotive business is an advantage
  • Full professional proficiency in the English language is required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, IFRS is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
