Accounting Director(m/f/d)
Location: Zagreb
The Accounting Director is responsible for overseeing accounting & auditing operations, managing a team of accounting professionals, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of accounts. This key role involves collaborating with departments to optimize accounting processes and leading consolidation efforts.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the accounting team
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations
- Prepare and present accurate and timely statutory and other accounting reports
- Conduct periodic accounting analyses and performance reviews to support management in making informed decisions
- Oversee financial consolidation efforts
- Ensure accurate reporting across entities
- Manage the transition from external accounting providers to insourcing
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with company policies
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Ensure tax compliance and risk mitigation
- Support project financing frameworks and initiatives from the accounting perspective
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Provide financial insight to support business expansion, investment decisions, and other strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with and support controlling teams by providing accounting inputs and insights
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize ERP systems
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and standards across the organization
Required skills, knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting management experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, IFRS is an advantage
- Project accounting and experience with various financing sources is an advantage
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems implementation
- Good knowledge of MS Office tools
- Fluency in the English language (both written and spoken)
