Development Team Lead (m/f/d)
Location: Varaždin
As the Development Team Lead, you will oversee a skilled team of engineers, managing the full lifecycle of product development—from early concept and technical design to prototyping and production readiness. This position combines strategic planning with active technical contribution and is ideal for someone who enjoys translating practical engineering challenges into innovative, manufacturable solutions. You'll be instrumental in setting technical direction, fostering innovation, and ensuring the timely delivery of robust, high-quality products across a range of European markets.
Main responsibilities:
- Leading and coordinating a multidisciplinary development team in designing mechanical systems and assemblies for complex mechanical systems
- Overseeing the full product development cycle, from conceptualization and prototyping to preparation for serial production
- Ensuring technical excellence, design innovation, and adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Driving continuous product improvements, focusing on performance, manufacturability, maintenance, and cost-efficiency
- Supervising the execution of design calculations and technical documentation
- Collaborating with sales, production, and quality teams to deliver tailored solutions for international clients
- Mentoring and developing team members while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
- Reporting project progress and resource needs to senior management and contributing to strategic planning
Required skills, knowledge and experience:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Proven track record in product development
- Experience in leading engineering teams or technical project leadership
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks)
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and prototyping
- Fluent in English (B2 or above); German is a plus
- Independent, structured, and collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a hands-on mindset and high level of initiative
